ASP880 front-panel controls

Front panel​

Each channel provides gain, 48 V phantom power, polarity reverse, high-pass-filter engage and ADC direct-access controls. Channels 1 and 2 also provide a −10 dB pad. The input-impedance selector and sweepable high-pass-filter frequency control sit below each channel’s switches.

  • Gain: 0–60 dB Class-A microphone gain
  • D.I.: Front-panel instrument inputs on channels 1 and 2
  • Input Z: 220 Ω, 1.2 kΩ or 2.8 kΩ microphone input impedance
  • HPF: Bypassable 12 dB/octave filter, sweepable from 25–250 Hz
  • A-D: Selects the rear DB25 ADC input / insert return for that converter channel
  • SIG / PK: Variable signal indication rising from −48 dBFS to −28 dBFS, and peak indication at −2 dBFS
  • Sample rate: Selects 44.1, 48, 88.2 or 96 kHz internal operation, or external synchronisation
  • Power indicator: Shows that ASP880 is powered

Rear panel​

ASP880 rear-panel connections
  • Eight Combi XLR microphone / 1/4-inch TRS line inputs
  • Eight analogue line outputs / insert sends on DB25
  • Eight direct ADC inputs / insert returns on DB25
  • DB9 digital output, selectable between AES and S/PDIF
  • Two ADAT optical outputs with SMUX support
  • BNC word-clock input and switchable 75 Ω termination
  • IEC mains input for 90–264 V AC operation
  • T1A time-delay mains safety fuse
