Analogue Outputs, ADAT & ADC
Analogue DB25 outputs
ASP800 provides eight fully balanced, ground-sensing line outputs on a rear-panel DB25 connector. They use the same sensing circuit as the ASP8024 console and can feed an external analogue-to-digital converter, recorder, console or outboard equipment.
The connector uses the Tascam DB25 analogue pinout. Output impedance is less than 200 Ω when balanced and less than 100 Ω when unbalanced. Maximum output level is +22 dBu.
ADAT SMUX outputs
The two optical outputs operate simultaneously.
| Sample rate | Optical connection | Channels |
|---|---|---|
| 44.1 or 48 kHz | Either optical port | Channels 1–8 |
| 44.1 or 48 kHz | Both ports | Channels 1–8 duplicated for redundant recording |
| 88.2 or 96 kHz | Both ports required | Four channels on each port for channels 1–8 |
At 88.2 or 96 kHz, connect two optical cables for all eight channels.
ADC reference calibration
The rear-panel reference switch changes the analogue level that corresponds to 0 dBFS:
| Switch setting | Digital reference |
|---|---|
| Out | 0 dBFS = +18 dBu |
| In | 0 dBFS = +12 dBu |
The source manual identifies +18 dBu as the setting for the professional-level iD22 and +12 dBu as the setting for the prosumer-level iD14. Select the setting that matches the line-up level of the receiving interface or recorder.
The signal and peak LED thresholds move with the selected reference level.
