Installation and Audio Connections
Mechanical installation
ASP510 consists of two units:
- a 1U rack mount Surround Processor
- a desktop Remote Control
The rack processor is fan cooled. Do not obstruct its ventilation openings and provide adequate airflow inside the rack to prevent overheating.
Avoid prolonged exposure of the Remote Control surface to direct sunlight, as this may damage the printed overlay.

Mains voltage and fuses
The rack processor has a rear-panel mains voltage selector.
| Selector position | Operating range | Fuse |
|---|---|---|
| 230 V | 210 V to 250 V AC | 20 mm T250 mA |
| 115 V | 105 V to 125 V AC | 20 mm T500 mA |
For 100 V operation, contact Audient Support or your authorised dealer for guidance.
Always replace a fuse with the same type and rating.
For the full electrical warnings, see Safety.
Balanced audio interfacing
ASP510 uses electronically balanced and ground-sensing audio interfaces with RFI rejection networks.
Signal connections are provided on 25-pin D-sub connectors using the DA-88 wiring convention.
When making D-sub interface cables:
- use high quality braided-screen cable
- connect screens correctly at both ends to maintain EMC performance
- keep the connector shell within 18 × 60 mm
Connecting unbalanced equipment
To unbalance an ASP510 output, connect the negative signal pin to the adjacent 0 V pin at the ASP510 output.
For an unbalanced source feeding ASP510, use a twin screened cable and connect the negative input conductor to the screen at the unbalanced source.
