Monitor Sources and Recording

Dim

Dim attenuates all monitor speakers by a user-defined amount.

To store the Dim level:

1. Hold DIM until it flashes.
2. Release the button.
3. Set the required level with the main Volume control.
4. Press DIM again to store the setting.

The factory default Dim level is -20 dB.

Cut

CUT mutes all monitor outputs.

Encoder/Decoder

Press IN in the Encoder/Decoder section to insert the connected encoder and decoder into the monitor path.

Monitor Source switches

ASP510 provides three Stereo and three Surround monitor sources.

For each group:

• REC selects the direct bus signal from the console or DAW.
• PLAY A selects the first external playback source.
• PLAY B selects the second external playback source.

Selecting a Stereo source cancels a previously selected Surround source, and selecting a Surround source cancels a Stereo source.

Default interlock

In the default state, selecting a source within a Stereo or Surround group cancels the previously selected source in that group.

Lock mode

Lock keeps a source active when another source in the same Stereo or Surround group is selected.

To lock a source, hold its source button until the lock state is stored.

Repeat the hold action to remove that source from the lock.

Gang mode

Gang allows two or three sources in the same Stereo or Surround group to be selected together.

1. Hold the first source until it flashes, then release it.
2. Hold the second source until it also flashes, then release it.
3. Add the third source in the same way if required.

To remove a member from the Gang, hold its source button until it is removed from the group.

Stereo Record Source

The stereo recorder feed can be selected from:

• BUS, the Stereo Bus feed from the console or DAW
• D/MIX, a stereo downmix of the direct Surround source
• ENC O/P, the LtRt output of the connected encoder

The illuminated source indicator shows the active stereo record source.
