Software Installation and Registration

Register EVO 8 through Audient ARC to access the current EVO software, Windows driver and bundled product resources.

EVO 8 works without a separate audio driver on macOS. Windows requires the Audient USB audio driver.

Register EVO 8 in Audient ARC

  1. Visit Audient ARC.
  2. Select Register Your Product.
  3. Create an ARC account, or sign in to an existing account.
  4. Open the verification email sent by ARC and verify the account.
  5. Select EVO 8 and enter the serial number and unique four-digit PIN printed on the underside of the unit.
  6. Complete the registration process.

Check the spam or junk folder if the verification email does not appear in the inbox.

Once EVO 8 is registered, its available software, drivers and bundled resources will appear in the ARC account.

note

Enter the serial number with its dashes. The four-digit product PIN is printed on the underside of EVO 8; it is not the GTIN13 number printed on the product box.

Download the EVO software

  1. Open the EVO 8 Downloads page.
  2. Select Visit ARC.
  3. Sign in to the ARC account containing the registered EVO 8.
  4. Download the current installer for the operating system.

Software compatibility can change as operating systems and the EVO application are updated. Check EVO Range Compatibility before installing.

macOS installation

EVO 8 works on macOS without a separate audio driver. Installing the EVO application is recommended because it provides mixer and routing control, audio loopback and firmware updates.

  1. Download the macOS EVO installer from ARC.
  2. Open the downloaded .dmg file.
  3. Drag the EVO application into the Applications folder.
  4. Connect EVO 8 to a USB port on the Mac using a suitable USB data cable.
  5. Open System Settings > Sound and select EVO 8 as the input and output device as required.

On older macOS versions, the sound-device controls are found under System Preferences > Sound.

On macOS, change EVO 8's sample rate using Audio MIDI Setup. Sample-rate selection in the EVO application is a Windows-only control in the current software.

If the Mac does not have the required USB port, use a suitable USB data cable, adaptor or hub.

Windows installation

Windows requires the Audient USB audio driver. Leave EVO 8 disconnected while running the installer unless the installer instructs you otherwise.

  1. Download the Windows EVO installer from ARC.
  2. Open the downloaded .exe file.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Select Finish when installation is complete.
  5. Connect EVO 8 to the computer using a suitable USB data cable.
  6. Open Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound.
  7. Select the Playback tab.
  8. Select EVO 8 Main Output 1+2 and choose Set Default Device if EVO 8 will be the computer's default audio output.

Use the EVO application for device settings, mixer and routing control, audio loopback and firmware updates.
