Troubleshooting
iD4 MKII will not power on
- Check that the USB cable is firmly connected.
- Try another USB port on the computer.
- Try another suitable USB cable.
- If a USB hub is being used, test iD4 MKII connected directly to the computer.
- If using USB-A, make sure the port can provide the required USB 3.0 power.
No audio playback
- Check the USB connection and confirm that the white USB status LED is solid.
- Make sure iD4 is selected as the computer and DAW playback device.
- Check that Monitor Mix is not turned fully to INPUT when you want to hear DAW playback.
- Check the speaker/headphone connections and output level.
Clicks, pops or unstable playback
A buffer size that is too low for the computer/session can cause clicks, pops or stuttering.
Increase the buffer size and test again. Larger projects with many plug-ins or virtual instruments may require a higher buffer size.
On Windows, also make sure the current Audient iD driver is installed. Keep iD4 MKII firmware up to date because firmware releases may include audio-performance fixes.
Loud feedback from the speakers
This can occur when a live microphone is monitored through speakers in the same room.
- Turn Monitor Mix fully towards DAW if the live input does not need to be monitored.
- Or press Mute Speakers and monitor through headphones.
Echo or doubled audio while recording
If you are using iD4 MKII direct monitoring through Monitor Mix, disable software/input monitoring for the same signal in the DAW. Otherwise both the direct signal and the delayed DAW-monitored signal can be heard.
USB status LED is not solid
A solid white USB LED indicates stable communication. Check the USB connection, port and cable. If the problem continues, contact Audient Support.
