Firmware & Updates

Firmware and updates

Horizon Control checks the firmware version of connected Horizon devices when the application is opened.

Firmware check on startup

  • If no update is required, Horizon Control opens the Mixer.

  • If an update is required, you are prompted to update the firmware.

Updating Horizon firmware

When an update is available:

  1. When prompted, select Update.

  2. In Select Devices To Update, add the Horizon devices you want to update.

  3. Select Update. Leave the devices connected and powered on until the update finishes.

  4. When Firmware Update Complete appears, select Finish.

Horizon reconnects automatically when the firmware update finishes, so there is no need to unplug the Thunderbolt cable or restart your Mac.

Checking for firmware updates

To check for firmware updates manually, open Horizon Control and select Help > Check for Horizon Updates.

Firmware update errors

Horizon Control provides an error dialogue if an update is interrupted, a Horizon device is disconnected during the update, or a device fails during a multi-device update.

When updating several Horizon devices, a failure on one device stops the update process. Devices remaining in the queue are not updated.
