Outputs, Metering and Setup Menu
Metering
Press the Control Wheel to cycle the front-panel metering between the eight EVO preamp channels and the eight incoming digital/ADAT channels.
Open the Setup Menu
Press and hold the Control Wheel to open the Setup Menu.
Output Source
The Output Source setting determines what feeds the eight analogue line outputs.
- Analogue — preamp channel 1 feeds line output 1, preamp channel 2 feeds line output 2, and so on.
- Digital — incoming ADAT channel 1 feeds line output 1, incoming ADAT channel 2 feeds line output 2, and so on.
Selecting Digital allows EVO SP8 to operate as an eight-channel D/A converter for incoming ADAT audio.
Sample Rate
EVO SP8 supports 44.1, 48, 88.2 and 96 kHz. When synchronising to an external Digital or Word Clock source, select Auto so EVO SP8 follows the detected sample rate.
Brightness
The Brightness setting changes the brightness of the front-panel LEDs, including the Control Wheel LED ring.
Status
The Status screen shows the current sample rate and the state of the detected Digital and Word Clock signals.
- Green — synchronised successfully.
- Amber — a valid clock is present but the sample rate does not match.
- Red — no valid clock has been detected.
Standby
From the Setup Menu, use Power > Yes to place EVO SP8 into standby. Hold the Control Wheel until the screen illuminates to wake the unit.
Holding the Control Wheel for approximately five seconds also provides the documented power-down/standby shortcut.
Factory Reset
Factory Reset removes the stored EVO SP8 settings and cannot be undone. Use it only when you intend to return the unit's stored settings to their factory state.
