Rack Mounting

EVO SP8 can be installed in a standard equipment rack using the optional EVO SP8 Rack Ear Kit.

What you need​

The EVO SP8 Rack Ear Kit contains:

  • 2 × EVO rack ears
  • 4 × M4 screws

You will also need a 3 mm hex driver or key and a Pozidriv screwdriver.

Install the rack ears​

  1. Use a 3 mm hex driver to remove the two screws near the front of EVO SP8 on each side of the unit.
  2. Position each rack ear so that its four screw holes align with the four screw holes on the side of EVO SP8.
  3. Insert the supplied M4 screws and tighten them until firm.
  4. Use a Pozidriv screwdriver to remove the rubber feet from the underside of EVO SP8.

Ventilation​

Do not install EVO SP8 immediately above or below equipment that produces significant heat without adequate ventilation. Keep the side ventilation openings clear.

Transportable racks​

If EVO SP8 is installed in a rack that will be transported regularly, use additional support such as a rack tray or side supports. This reduces the load on the rack ears and helps minimise the risk of damage to EVO SP8.
