Main stereo meters​

ASP4816 Classic master stereo meters and status indicators

The main meter section includes:

  1. +18 V, -18 V and 48 V power-rail status indicators.
  2. Left and right peak-reading Main Output meters.
  3. OVER indicators, which illuminate at approximately +20 dBu.
  4. 0 VU reference at +4 dBu.
  5. Talkback microphone connector.
  6. Global Solo indicator.

The +18 dBu = 0 dBFS notation in the original manual refers to the assumed digital converter alignment. It is not the analogue maximum output level of the console.

Subgroup / Line 17–24 meters​

There are eight peak-reading meters associated with the subgroup/Line 17–24 section.

The first eight record buses feed the subgroup paths in parallel. During mixdown, multiple LF-path channels can be collected into a subgroup by pressing the channel routing-section LF switch, routing them to buses 1–8, and then assigning the required subgroup to the stereo Mix.

The subgroup insert returns can instead be used as Line Inputs 17–24. These line inputs share the corresponding subgroup fader and meter path.
