Studio, Foldback and Control Room Monitoring

Studio and Foldback section​

The master section provides one stereo Studio Loudspeaker output and two stereo Foldback outputs.

ASP4816 Classic Studio and Foldback controls

Each output can be built from the available source-select controls:

  • EXT 1
  • EXT 2
  • C/RM - the Control Room monitor source
  • AUX A and AUX B

The console's channel sends are labelled Cue A and Cue B; these Cue buses are presented in the Studio/Foldback source section as AUX A and AUX B.

Each Studio/Foldback output has its own level control. The Studio Loudspeaker output has an ON switch. Foldback A and B each have a SOLO switch so their mixes can be checked through the control-room monitoring system; this audition is AFL.

Control Room monitoring​

ASP4816 supports four stereo control-room speaker pairs:

  • MAIN
  • ALT 1
  • ALT 2
  • ALT 3

Monitoring sources are MIX, DAW, EXT 1 and EXT 2.

The Main and Alt speaker outputs have independent level controls. Additional monitoring controls provide:

  • MONO for compatibility checking
  • Independent left and right CUT controls
  • DIM, reducing the monitor level by approximately 15 dB
  • Main CUT to silence the monitor output
