ASP4816 Classic Manual

The ASP4816 Classic is the original version of Audient's compact in-line analogue recording console. It provides twin signal paths on each of its 16 main channels, 40 faders and up to 48 inputs at mix.

Its core facilities include:

  • 16 Audient Class-A microphone preamps
  • 16 channels of four-band EQ
  • 16 record buses
  • 6 Aux sends and 2 Cue sends
  • 8 subgroups
  • Four stereo inputs
  • Stereo bus compressor
  • Four-pair control-room monitoring
  • Studio and dual Foldback outputs

The console uses an in-line architecture: the Short Fader (SF) and Long Fader (LF) paths share each channel strip. In the normal configuration, the Mic/Line input feeds the SF path and the DAW return feeds the LF path. The FLIP switch reverses those assignments.

The original ASP4816 uses a different control-surface colour convention from later ASP4816 editions: dark areas identify the SF path, while lighter areas identify the LF path.
