Long Fader and Input Connections
Long Fader
The Long Fader (LF) is positioned close to the operator and is normally used for the monitoring and final-mix path.
- 0 dB is the normal unity-gain operating position.
- The fader provides up to +10 dB of gain above unity.
- At the bottom of its travel, the path is closed.
For gain staging, begin with the fader around 0 dB and set the input level at the appropriate source or input gain stage rather than relying on large fader corrections.
Channel input and insert connectors
Each main channel provides:
- MICROPHONE INPUT - XLR input for microphone and other suitable low-level sources.
- LINE INPUT - TRS line-level input selected with the channel MIC/LINE switch.
- MIC/LINE INSERT SEND - always carries the Mic/Line path and is unaffected by FLIP.
- MIC/LINE INSERT RETURN - return from an external processor.
- DAW INPUT - TRS input intended for the DAW return or another line-level source.
- DAW INSERT SEND - always carries the DAW input path and is unaffected by FLIP.
- DAW INSERT RETURN - return from an external processor in the DAW path.
The insert sends may also be used as additional outputs where appropriate.
