Installation and Safety
Unpacking
The ASP4816-HE is tested and inspected before dispatch. Check the console for signs of transit damage before installation. If damage is found, notify the carrier and dealer.
The original package includes:
- ASP4816-HE console
- IEC mains power cord
- User manual
Mains earth
The ASP4816-HE is connected to mains safety earth through its IEC power cord. Never operate the console with the earth connection removed.
Internal power supply and mains fuse
The internal switch-mode power supply accepts 90–264 V AC mains input.
Do not tamper with the internal power supply or mains-voltage circuitry. Hazardous voltages are present inside the console.
If the mains fuse requires replacement, use the specified T2A slow-blow type.
Ventilation
Do not obstruct the console ventilation openings. Airflow is provided around the armrest, side panels and meter bridge. When installing the console into studio furniture, leave sufficient clearance for air to circulate around these openings.
Front-panel overlay
The front panel uses an under-surface printed polycarbonate overlay. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can affect the overlay and control knobs.
Power-up check
After powering on the console, confirm that the +48 V and ±18 V power-rail indicators illuminate on the right-hand side of the meter bridge.
Service and internal access
The console uses a multi-PCB internal construction. Internal servicing should only be carried out by suitably qualified personnel.
Before any authorised internal work, switch the console off and disconnect the IEC mains lead.
