Audio Interfaces and Dimensions

ASP4816-HE inputs and outputs use electronically balanced or ground-sensing topologies with RFI-rejection networks. Signal interfaces are protected against accidental misuse such as the connection of phantom-powered cables.

Connector conventions

Signal connections are provided on XLR, TRS jack and 25-pin D-sub connectors.

For XLR connections:

  • Pin 1 — chassis safety ground
  • Pin 2 — signal positive
  • Pin 3 — signal negative

To unbalance an ASP4816-HE output, connect Pin 3 to Pin 1 at the console output. For an unbalanced source feeding the console, use a twin-screened cable and tie the Pin 3 connection to the screen at the unbalanced source.

All DB25 connectors on the console use Tascam-standard pinouts.

Cable screens

For optimum interference rejection, connect cable screens correctly at both ends of each run. High-quality braided-screen cable is recommended.

Dimensions

  • Width: 1090 mm
  • Depth: 995 mm
  • Height: 335 mm
  • Weight: 60 kg
ASP4816-HE console dimensions: 1090 mm wide, 995 mm deep and 335 mm high

Furniture installation reference

For studio furniture and installation planning, Audient's maintained dimensions reference specifies a 7.5° control-surface rake from the horizontal fader-panel plane and provides additional meter-bridge geometry and installation drawings.

See ASP4816 SE/HE Dimensions for the current detailed installation information.
