ASP8024-HE Manual

ASP8024-HE is a semi-modular in-line analogue recording console designed for tracking, mixing, signal routing, analogue summing and studio monitoring. It provides 24 multitrack buses, 12 auxiliary sends, two Cue sends, eight subgroups and four Stereo EFX inputs, together with Heritage Edition processing on the stereo Mix Bus.

Principal features​

  • In-line channel architecture with separate Short Fader (SF) and Long Fader (LF) paths.
  • 24 multitrack buses, with buses 1–8 also feeding eight subgroup paths.
  • 12 auxiliary sends plus two Cue sends.
  • Four-band channel EQ that can be split between the LF and SF paths.
  • Four Stereo EFX inputs for additional stereo returns.
  • Comprehensive control-room, studio-loudspeaker and artist-foldback monitoring.
  • Stereo bus compressor and Heritage Edition Retro Iron, Low Bump and High Lift processing.
  • John Hardy 990C summing amplifiers on the stereo Mix Bus.
  • Optional Dual Layer Control (DLC), patchbay, Producer's Desk, VESA screen mount, 48 Bus Mod and Cable Entry Meter Pod.

Recording workflow​

During tracking, the Mic/Line input normally feeds the Short Fader path for routing to the recording buses while the DAW/Tape return feeds the Long Fader path for monitoring. During mixdown, DAW returns can be brought back through the Long Fader paths and combined through the stereo Mix Bus.

How the console is organised​

The CH FLIP control swaps the Mic/Line and DAW/Tape sources between the Short and Long Fader paths. The channel routing, EQ and auxiliary sections can also be assigned between paths, allowing the same physical strip to handle recording and monitoring/mix duties at the same time.
