Patchbay
The optional on-board patchbay uses Bantam/TT jacks to bring frequently used console and studio connections to the control surface. The exact normalled arrangement depends on the ordered configuration.
Multitrack outputs and recorder feeds
- OUT is the corresponding multitrack bus output, buses 1–24.
- REC A / REC B feed the two recorder destinations for that bus. The A and B paths allow the same bus to be sent to two recording systems.
Tape/DAW return and channel path
Tape/DAW return:
- PLAY A - signal from the playback device.
- TAPE IN - input to the console DAW/Tape return path.
- SEND / RETURN - insert points for the DAW/Tape path.
Channel path:
- DEV OUT - direct signal associated with the Line input/device path.
- LINE IN - input to the channel Line circuit.
- SEND / RETURN - insert points for the Mic/Line path.
Subgroups, Stereo EFX and Mix Insert
Each subgroup provides its insert SEND/RET, subgroup OUT, and a DEV point to the device connected at the subgroup output.
Each Stereo EFX input provides a device source plus left/right inputs to the EFX return.
The main Mix Insert SEND is after the Heritage Output Card. The RETURN is before the stereo bus compressor.
Mix and external monitor paths
The patchbay carries the left/right Mix Bus after the Master Fader and the left/right outputs for Mix Outputs 1, 2 and 3.
The three stereo External Input pairs can be patched before they enter the monitor/foldback source-selection section.
Parallels, Studio and Foldback
The four PARALLEL jacks are connected together so one signal can be duplicated to several destinations.
Do not connect more than one active source to the parallel set at the same time. Doing so shorts the source outputs together.
Studio and Foldback points provide the console send and a direct route to the connected amplifier/headphone system.
Speaker, Cue and Aux outputs
The speaker patch points provide left/right monitor signals and direct connections to the attached monitor amplifiers.
Cue A/B are presented after the Cue Master controls. The patch points also provide a direct route to the devices connected to the rear Cue outputs.
All 12 Aux outputs are available, with direct routes to the devices connected to the rear Aux connectors.
Level converters and tie lines
The passive level-converter points reduce a professional +4 dB nominal signal for -10 dB consumer equipment. They only reduce level and cannot be used in reverse to boost a -10 dB source.
The patchbay provides 144 tie lines for external studio connections. They are through-wired and can be half-normalled in pairs using internal link jumpers.
The rear patchbay connector panel uses three DB25 connectors for each 24-channel Multitrack A/B set and 18 DB25 connectors for the 144 tie lines, following the Tascam analogue DB25 convention.
