Equaliser
Every standard input channel includes the David Dearden four-band console EQ. The EQ is divided into two independently assignable sections so part can process the LF path while the other part processes SF.
HF and LF shelves
- IN places the shelf section in circuit.
- SF assigns the shelf section to the Short Fader path. With SF disengaged it remains on LF.
- HF provides up to ±15 dB and can be switched between 10 kHz and 18 kHz using AIR.
- LF provides up to ±15 dB and can be switched between 50 Hz and 100 Hz.
Parametric mids
- IN places the parametric section in circuit.
- SF assigns the parametric section to the Short Fader path independently of the shelf section.
- HMF sweeps approximately 450 Hz to 20 kHz.
- LMF sweeps approximately 50 Hz to 1.5 kHz.
- Each mid band provides up to ±15 dB of boost/cut.
- BW/Q changes the bandwidth: a narrower setting targets a smaller frequency range, while a wider setting affects more surrounding frequencies.
The continuously variable mid-band Q range is 0.6 to 3.7.
Split the EQ between paths
The shelf and parametric sections have independent SF switches. This allows, for example, the shelf EQ to be recorded on the Mic/Line/SF path while the parametric mids remain available for the DAW/Tape/LF monitor path.
