Troubleshooting
iD14 MKII will not power on
- Check that the USB cable is securely connected at both ends.
- Try another compatible USB port.
- Try another known-good USB cable.
- If you are using a USB hub or dock, connect iD14 MKII directly to the computer as a troubleshooting test.
- If you are using USB-A, make sure the connection is USB 3.0 and can provide at least 900 mA.
- Check whether the white USB status LED illuminates.
If the problem continues, contact Audient Support.
I hear clicks or pops
If clicks or pops occur during DAW playback, increase the audio buffer size.
If an ADAT or S/PDIF device is connected to the optical input, also check digital clock synchronisation and sample rate.
I cannot hear playback
- Check that the white USB status LED is illuminated.
- Confirm that iD14 is selected as the audio output device in the operating system.
- Confirm that iD14 is selected as the output device in the application or DAW.
- Make sure the required speaker or headphone output is selected, unmuted, and turned up.
- Open the iD Mixer and check the output routing.
If the required output is routed from Main Mix, make sure the relevant DAW playback channel is not muted and its fader is raised.
If the output is assigned to Cue A, Cue B, Alt Speaker, or DAW Thru, check the corresponding routing instead.
See System Panel and Routing for more information.
Digital clocking problems
Clocking problems can cause clicks or pops, failure to lock to the external digital device, incorrect playback speed or pitch, or missing digital input audio.
Check the digital format
Set Digital Input Format to match the connected optical source:
- ADAT
- S/PDIF
Check the clock source
When iD14 MKII is not receiving digital audio from an external device, use its internal clock.
When receiving ADAT or S/PDIF through the optical input, configure iD14 MKII to synchronise to the incoming optical clock. The external digital device must provide the clock.
Check the status indicator
- Red — no valid clock signal detected
- Amber — clock detected but the sample rate does not match
- Green — valid clock detected at the correct sample rate
Check sample rate
Make sure the external digital device, iD14 MKII, and the DAW or audio application use the same sample rate.
Reset the iD Mixer
Resetting the iD Mixer removes its current saved state. Quit the iD application completely before deleting the state file.
macOS
- In Finder, open Go in the menu bar.
- Hold Option/Alt and select Library.
- Navigate to
Application Support > Audient > iD > state.xml. - Delete
state.xml. - Reopen the iD application.
Windows
Delete:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Audient\iD\state.xml
Then reopen the iD application.
Do not delete the parent iD folder. It also contains your iD Mixer presets.
Check software and firmware
Register iD14 MKII through Audient ARC to access the latest iD software and Windows driver.
Use the iD application to check for available firmware updates. See Getting Started for the firmware-update procedure.
