Stereo Inputs, Line Inputs and Subgroups
Stereo Inputs
ASP4816-SE provides four stereo line-level returns, typically used for effects processors or other stereo sources without using the main channel strips.
The routing switches assign a Stereo Input to record-bus pairs 1–2, 3–4, 5–6 or 7–8. Press SHIFT to access 9–10, 11–12, 13–14 or 15–16. Returned effects or other stereo sources can therefore be routed to the record buses for recording or bouncing.
| Control | Function |
|---|---|
| Routing | Selects a record-bus pair |
| SHIFT | Changes routing to bus pairs 9–16 |
| F/B A / F/B B | Sends the return to Foldback A or B |
| INPUT TRIM | ±20 dB input adjustment |
| LEVEL | Controls Stereo Input level |
| MIX | Routes the return to the stereo Mix bus |
| SOLO | Auditions the Stereo Input using the selected solo mode |
| CUT | Mutes the Stereo Input |
Subgroups and Line Inputs 17–24
Buses 1–8 also feed the corresponding eight subgroup paths. Each subgroup provides PAN, MIX, SOLO, CUT, a fader and a rear-panel insert.
The subgroup insert returns can alternatively be used as Line Inputs 17–24. These additional inputs then share the corresponding subgroup controls and meter.
The subgroup Insert Return and the corresponding Line Input 17–24 are the same physical connection. They cannot perform both functions simultaneously.
| Fader position | Function |
|---|---|
| +10 dB | Maximum fader gain |
| 0 dB | Unity gain / normal reference position |
| ∞ | Maximum attenuation |
