Talkback, Aux Masters, Bus Masters and Master Fader
Talkback
The Talkback Mic input provides 48 V phantom power by default, allowing condenser microphones to be used. Phantom power can be disabled using an internal hardware link; contact Audient Support before changing this configuration.
| Control | Function |
|---|---|
| LEVEL | Sets talkback level |
| SLATE BUS OUTPUTS | Routes talkback to the record-bus outputs |
| STUDIO LOUDSPEAKER | Routes talkback to the Studio output |
| ARTIST FOLDBACK | Routes talkback to both Foldback outputs |
The Studio Loudspeaker (SLS) and Artist Foldback (FB) talkback functions can also be controlled from the rear-panel footswitch connections using a latching footswitch that shorts Tip to Ground when active.
Activating a talkback destination automatically dims the Control Room monitoring. This automatic DIM affects the control-room monitor level; it does not reduce the selected Talkback destination output.
Aux Masters
Each Aux bus has an overall master level and an AFL solo. LINK allows separate LF/SF-derived Aux mixes to be combined into a common output.
| Linked bus | Resulting master/output |
|---|---|
| Aux 3 → Aux 1 | Aux 1 |
| Aux 5 → Aux 1 | Aux 1 |
| Aux 4 → Aux 2 | Aux 2 |
| Aux 6 → Aux 2 | Aux 2 |
Bus Master Trim
Each of the 16 record-bus outputs has a final ±10 dB Bus Master Trim for setting the corresponding bus-output level.
Master Fader
The Master Fader controls the stereo Mix output. Its top position is 0 dB (unity gain), with attenuation below this point.
During normal operation, keep the Master Fader at 0 dB where practical. If substantial attenuation is required to achieve the desired output level, reduce the levels feeding the stereo Mix bus instead.
