Troubleshooting and FAQ

iD24 will not power on / USB LED is not lit

  • Check that the USB cable is fully connected at both ends.
  • Try a different suitable USB port.
  • Try another known-good data-capable USB cable.
  • If a hub/dock is involved, test iD24 connected directly to the computer.

Clicks or pops during DAW playback

Clicks/pops are commonly caused by an audio buffer that is too small for the current computer/project load.

  1. Raise the buffer size.
  2. Confirm that the DAW and operating system are not fighting over different sample rates.
  3. On Windows, check that unnecessary sample-rate changes from shared/exclusive applications are not occurring.
  4. Close unnecessary high-load applications and test again.

Use lower buffers for tracking where practical and higher buffers for mixing.

No computer playback through iD24

  • Confirm iD24 is the active playback device in the DAW and operating system.
  • Confirm the DAW return channels are visible and raised in the iD Software Mixer.
  • Check the Routing Matrix for the destination outputs.
  • Confirm the monitor is not Cut/Dimmed or routed to an unintended Alt path.

No ADAT/S/PDIF audio or clock will not lock

  1. Confirm the correct optical format: ADAT or S/PDIF.
  2. Confirm there is only one clock master.
  3. If iD24 is the slave, set clock source to Optical.
  4. Make sure both devices use the same sample rate.
  5. Check the status indicator: green = correct lock, amber = clock detected at the wrong sample rate, red = no valid clock.
  6. At 88.2/96 kHz, remember that ADAT provides four channels through SMUX.

Reset the iD application state

If the mixer application itself behaves incorrectly, quit the iD application before removing its state file.

  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Audient/iD/state.xml
  • Windows: %APPDATA%\Audient\iD\state.xml

Do not delete the entire iD application-support folder; saved configurations/presets may be stored alongside the state data.

Open the iD application again so a new state file can be created.

Keep software and firmware current

Use Audient ARC/current iD24 downloads for software and drivers. Use the iD application for available iD24 firmware updates.

If the problem remains after these checks, contact Audient Support with the computer/OS, iD software version, iD24 firmware version, DAW, sample rate, buffer size and a clear description of the routing/clocking setup.
